Voice change

The best way to check someone who has voice change is to perform an endoscopy. This is done in the clinic using a small camera placed through your nose to visualise your voice box and upper airway. The examination is quick and safe and is a very effective way off ensuring that changes are not due to serious conditions.

It is usually easy to diagnose voice conditions with endoscopy alone and provide you with a targeted set of treatments that can be tailored to you individually. We can make recordings of your vocal function or offer a range more specific tests such as stroboscopy which we can perform in a joint clinic appointment with our speech therapy team. We may recommend you have speech therapy and work closely with speech therapists to facilitate that.
