Infection or inflammation of the external ear canal is very common. It is also known as otitis externa. It can be painful and irritating and lead to deafness. It can also lead to infections of the skin around your ear and face.
Otitis externa can be easily treated with a combination of micro-suction which involves using a microscope and a suction device to remove any debris from your ear canal, and medication such as steroid and antibiotic drops. We can apply other medications directly to the skin of your ear canal and give advice on how to prevent future flare ups.
